Book 3 in the Socket trilogy. The Paladin Nation is rebuilding. Socket Greeny is leading them into a new era of compassion and understanding. But when Pike returns, Socket discovers nothing is what he expected, that his life has been planned from the beginning. He is faced with ultimate betrayal. In the end, he won't be asked to save the world. It'll be the entire universe.

Dynamic villain, though he could have taken up the whole book (the other sub-villains took up too much room). By this book, I just got too bogged down with the metaphysical language. Again, as I have stated in my review of Book One, there is nothing wrong with metaphysics, as long as you're fine to call this work speculative/fantasy instead of science fiction. Some of the plot twists were turn-offs for me. The action was rushed. One thing I refrained from my previous reviews (that must be let out now), is the character the commander. We see his name twice in the whole series. We don't hear him speak much. As a mentor of the hero, and leading figure of the powerful Paladin Nation, we sure don't see him do much. Make Mother Kay the commander. That would have been cooler.

The Legend of Socket Greeny Tony Bertauski 9780982845240 Books Reviews
Seemed like the author was just trying to tie up loose ends and be finished with the story. Had to read this one to find out how it all ended. But it seemed kinda rushed.
The legend is a like a love story between now and the future. The past intertwining with the future of two people.
I loved this entire series from start to finish.
An awe inspiring end to a beautiful story that just keeps on giving.
This is a very entertaining series! Great characters, very engaging with lots of twists and turns. When a book is this hard to put down, it's got to be 5 stars!!!
I'm sad that it's over. I could really use more Socket and Chute. I thought that maybe Chute should have been more developed as a separate plot. Enjoyable regardless.
The Socket Greeny series is one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read. And I really mean it. I've archived it and will probably read it once a year for a long time,
It is accurate but not entirely sufficient to write that Socket Greeny, hero of the once secret Paladin society, in this book, has matured, grew comfortable with and exercised his power for the good of mankind. However that summery would be lacking the heart and soul of the story - the answer to Socket Greeny's deepest questions. Another very enjoyable read. Rushed? Not at all.
